Adult Training Opportunities

Facilities Want to catch up on some training?

Want to learn some new skills and knowledge?

Want to refresh your knowledge on a subject that will help you work with young people, but struggle to find the time?

We want to help you and felt it was an opportunity to offer training sessions at the Essex International Jamboree for leaders or staff who may have some free time and wish to learn something new, brush up or refresh their skills and knowledge.

Both Scouting and Guiding work with young people so it seems obvious to offer some joint trainings at times when leaders from both organsiations are together in the same place. Each session will provide opportunities for ongoing learning and support the formal training processes of both organsiations. We also aim to offer validation sessions for Scouters that require them.

When and Where?
FacilitiesWe aim to run sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and maybe one evening. The training sessions will be based in and around the Market Square and the times/venues will be confirmed nearer the time. All sessions are open to any Leader, Young Leader or Adult on site, whether they are there as staff or with a unit.

We also hope to offer Safeguarding sessions covering “Safe From Harm” and “Young People First” (Yellow Card) and a Drugs Awareness session.
