The Outside view of the Jamboree
As 10,000 Scouts and Guides converged on the village of Kirby-le-Soken and the town of Clacton on Sea this week, it must have had a huge effect on both places.
With offsite activities going on all over the local area, the visibility of Scouting and Guiding was clearly on show – with a mass of people wearing their Jamboree scarves and passes.
A 90-year-old local man, stopped Sub Camp staff from Komodo Dragon especially to tell them how impressed he was with the manners and behaviour of everyone visiting the town
Similarly the owner of the one of the kiosks on the Sea front asked another leader to pass on her message of thanks to the hundreds of Scouts and Guides that have visited here during the Jamboree. She explained that everyone had been impeccably behaved, very friendly and always polite.
So well done to you all for promoting such a positive image of Scouting and Guiding.
