Welcome To The Red Panda’s

Welcome!!!

The whole team wish you a FANTASTIC time on the Red Panda Sub Camp at Essex International Jamboree 2008.

Why Red Pandas?

They are just so cute! The Red Panda is native to Southeastern Asia, mainly found in the Himalayan Mountains and foothills of northern India, China, Nepal and Bhutan. Experts believe as few as 2,500 survive in the wild where they are threatened by deforestation and poaching.

Red Panda means ‘eater of bamboo’, it has also been known as the ‘Wah’ because of it’s distinctive cry.

When disturbed, Red Pandas exhales an explosive whuufff, much like a raccoon. At the same time, they violently arch their bodies to frighten off intruders!
