Here you will find information, pictures and other stuff about your subcamp at the Essex International Jamboree.

The Pygmy Hippo lives in the forests and swamps of Western Africa; mainly in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Until recently it was thought that civil conflict, logging and poaching had made the Pygmy Hippo extinct in Liberia. However the Royal Zoological Society found otherwise…

At Colchester Zoo, there are two Pygmy Hippos, Freddie & Venus. The Subcamp is adopting Venus, who was born in July 2000.
